Tumblr Theme TextMate Bundle.
An excellent new Tumblr Bundle for TextMate.
So, I complained a little this morning about a funny picture of mine that was being circulated on Tumblr without credit, not so much because I’m upset about this particular image, but because this is a common and unquestioned thing on Tumblr - posting things without any context, making it impossible to tell what’s original content, what’s remixed, and what’s been made by a professional artist, for instance.
So I notice that the post has been featured on Tumblr’s Popular posts page. Great, I think, someone at Tumblr thought it would indeed be good to educate users about Responsible Lols™.
But no, what they featured was the original, uncredited image. Oy.
It’s very unfortunate. This problem could be overcome with a little MD5 image-recognition. Just check any new-uploads to see if they’re replicas of another original post. See which post was made first, and feature that one on the radar; regardless of how many reblogs the second post had.
Ever wonder where that original default Tumblr background came from? The one you used to see on all the Tumblr blogs but that has silently faded away into an oblivion with the introduction of the Theme Garden.
Well, I’m kind of assuming here, but I’m thinking it came from the awesome Squidfingers pattern repository.
